Ryo and that leather jacket have never looked so good.
New screenshots have been released in an update on the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter page highlighting graphical upgrades to the game as well as details on the state of the game’s development. In the update, legendary series creator Yu Suzuki stated that:
“I have been completely absorbed in development of Shenmue 3 recently, and often stay at the studio throughout the night to make it the best game possible. My life has become Shenmue both day and night, and I’m happy”.
These are promising signs for fans of one of the highest backed Kickstarters in history, which received over 6 million dollars after it’s shock reveal at E3 2015.
Pre-orders for the PC version of the game have also gone live today, December 15th, in a bid to add some extra funds to the game’s ongoing development. Shenmue 3 remains on course for a 2017 release, however going by the amount of game delays across the industry of late, we’d be surprised if we were to get our hands on the much anticipated title before 2018. Whenever the game finally hits the shelves, what we do know for certain, is that we can’t wait to dive back into the Shenmue universe and finally catch up with that pesky Lan Di!
